Info and Instructions
Breakout-prone skin can be challenging, but I have found that my products work wonderfully to clear problem skin. There are a few things you need to know to help you in clearing your skin. Please read this information thoroughly and follow it carefully.
You need three things for your skin to clear:
1) Non-comedogenic ingredients*
2) Bacteria killing properties
3) Ingredients that will properly exfoliate the skin
Your skin will take approximately 60 to 90 days to completely clear, if you follow the directions faithfully. You have a problem with the skin, which causes it to slough too quickly. It takes 90 days for a blemish to form, so it will take this long to stop the formation of blemishes under the surface of the skin. Even after your skin is completely clear, you will need to keep using the products. This will keep the cycle of formation of blemishes from getting out of control again. Also, remember to apply the BPO to the entire face, even if you have areas that do not have blemishes right now. They can still be forming under the surface.
I am starting you on 5% BPO Lotion. For most people this is not strong enough to clear your skin. You will need to get acclimated to the products and we have to start slowly so there will be minimal discomfort. Please call me after three to five days of starting the products so we can move you up to the next level. At level 10, you will begin to see more and more clearing of the skin. Please make sure you use enough of the BPO Lotion at night. Apply enough BPO to see a milky film on your skin after it has dried. While this is drying, apply a large glob of the BPO with a Q-tip to any blemish you see on the surface. Let the lotion dry completely before getting into bed, IT WILL BLEACH FABRICS.
You will need to clean your skin everyday, twice a day, morning and evening. Your skin will need to go throughsome drying and peeling in order for it to clear. This helps to clean out the impacted pores, which cause the blemishes to form. You may experience some tightness and see redness while you are in the clearing process. Do not be alarmed at this; it is normal. If you are extremely uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to call me and we will adjust your products. Your face should not be so dry that you can’t move it or smile.
The next few suggestions will help your skin clear even more quickly:
1)Try not to pick on your skin. Although scaring may occur even if you don’t pick, picking can make it worse. Contact me, and I can either do extractions, or show you the proper way to clean out the blemish.
2)Use your mask 2 to 3 times a week. Also an ice treatment helps as well because it enables the BPO lotion to penetrate more deeply. To do the treatment, after you have scrubbed and cleansed the skin at night, pat your face dry, and rub an ice cube for 1 to 3 minutes all over your skin. You can so this every night, depending on how fast you want to clear. After the ice treatment, follow the instructions above in applying BPO Lotion.
3)The wrong cosmetics can greatly affect the skin. Many cosmetics on the market can clog, irritate and break out your skin. I now carry several makeup products that are safe. They have been proven to be completely non-acne producing.*(see note below)
I can assure you that you will have clear, healthy skin, if you follow these instructions. It takes only minutes a day, morning and evening, to use these products. *For makeup wearers: It is extremely important to make sure the makeup you use on your skin is safe and will not clog your pores.
